
Maureen Brogan holds certification as a Nurse Practitioner in both Women’s Health and Family specialties. As a Nurse Practitioner, Maureen believes in a partnership and communication between client and provider in delivering health care. She focuses on health promotion, disease prevention and patient education. With her education in women’s health and family health care, she brings a holistic understanding to her practice in the women’s health setting.
She received her undergraduate education in Nursing at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. In 1983 she completed a certificate program as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Hartford Connecticut. With a move to Texas in 1994, she pursued and completed her Master’s degree in Nursing at Texas Woman’s University in 1997 with the added specialty as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Maureen has practiced in a variety of settings as a Nurse Practitioner including University Health clinics, private practices in Women’s Health and Family specialties and in both urban and rural clinics. She has experience in caring for women from adolescence through menopause meeting the various needs of women in all age groups. In addition to her clinical practice at NCWHP, she is employed as Assistant Clinical Professor, teaching Masters of Nursing students studying to become Family Nurse Practitioners at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX.
